My name is Elizabeth Larkin. I have been a community organizer in New Haven for eight years, focusing on queer liberation, housing justice, and police accountability. Most recently, I worked for four years as a case manager for youth experiencing homelessness. During that time, I began a youth-led advisory board to help shape policy and programming at the organization and within the city. A week ago, I adopted an adorable puppy. Her name is Kishke, which means 'guts' in Yiddish.
I've never used photoshop before; to be honest, I thought this was a traditional drawing class, not a digital design class. However, I'm generally a good sport, and I'm excited to learn about digital design, which seems like a useful skill.
Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your bio... how wonderful to hear about your community organizing. Having some new digital skills will be great for you professionally... and one of the joys of this mode of image making is that you can create so many more designs in far less time than using traditional media... Imagine if you were to create 6 finished ink on paper designs on 18"X24" paper.... how many more hours would it have taken? The concepts expressed are the same, just the medium has changed. Nicely done.... Just friends is lovely.. (they all are actually)
Ps, Congratulations on getting Kishke!
ReplyDeleteHi, I enjoyed seeing all your dots...Just friends is very clever.
