This was by far my favorite and I really like the results. Not surprisingly, I like many humans, have an affinity for symmetry. I am also excited at the mention of us doing something like M.C. Escher in the upcoming lessons, so I'm looking forward to that as well.
I'm almost tempted to let you all guess, but here are some simple multicolor circles.
Marigolds I think. (The color has not been altered!)
Butterfly wings.
Tree Roots.
You were correct on my image it does look like gift wrap. I was looking for a plaid image that resembled holiday spirit. I like your tree root and marigold images, they look like they are moving when you stare at them.

DeleteNicely done! One way to do a final tune on how light they are is to use levels (ctrl-L) then move the highlight slider to the left to your taste.
